John Calvin at 500

God wishes first of all for inward worship, and afterwards for outward profession. The principal altar for the worship of God ought to be situated in our minds, for God is worshipped spiritually by faith, prayer, and other acts of piety. (John 4:24.) It is also necessary to add outward profession, not only that we may exercise ourselves in God’s worship, but offer ourselves wholly to him, and bend before him both bodily and mentally, and devote ourselves entirely to him. John Calvin, Commentary on Daniel 3:6

May we worship by faith, prayer, piety, bodily, mentally and will entire devotion as Calvin instructs. Sol Gloria Deo

Piggies

Read this today:
This little pig went to market.
This little pig went to Rome.
This little pig had roast beef.
This little pig had none.
And this little pig cried "wee, wee, wee,"
All the way home.
If you are like me, the words for my second little piggie were always
This little pig stayed home.
First published in 1728 according to wikipedia.
Another variation:
This little pig danced a merry, merry jig;
This little pig ate candy.
This little pig wore a blue and yellow wig;
This little pig was a dandy.
But this little pig never grew to be big,
So they called him tiny little Andy.
And just for effect, Kristl's family did this one instead, in reverse order (starting with the smallest toe):
Little "P"
Penny Roo
Judy Whistle
Levi Castle
And the great... big... Hobbly Gobbly
See here for other variations?

Three Roads Converged in a Woods...

Kristl has a pregnancy-induced bloody nose.
Lincoln is tearing masking tape off of the newly-painted baby's room and can't reach the top of the window sills.
Liberty is making a mess, rummaging through cereal boxes looking for something to eat.

All three of them are yelling for the dad.

Who do I help first? Who do I help first?

Baby Fatigue

Kristl must have baby fatigue. She just fed Libby a plate of cheese slices and a dry ham sandwich then poured corn pops over the top of them. Should I be concerned?

School Day Transportation

Twice now Liberty has gotten to ride in the truck (with car-seat of course).
I guess we really need a van, but she really does think it's fun.
